BitTorrent

BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing (P2P) communications protocol. It works so successfully because users are rewarded for uploading while they download thus creating a true sharing architecture. WNTorrents (a WarezNET affiliate site) now has a bittorent tracker (server) for users to privately and securely download.

Rapidshare, Megaupload and other free hosts

By using HTTP as the method of transfer, many websites have been created to gain commercially from the sharing of files. This method is becoming more common, with free hosting services like Rapidshare, Megaupload coming long. They generally work by the purchase of premium accounts and encourage free users to purchase premium accounts to improve their download speeds or wait times.

P2P

Peer-to-peer (P2P), is a common form of downloading. The most popular programs for P2P sharing are Limewire, Kazza and Bearshare but due to anti-piracy group pressures the number of users on these networks is declining. Often, you will find virus's and bad files while using these, but for things like single songs they can be great.

IRC

People use Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to get their warez, and sometimes warez groups can form over irc where they share their releases with other members. These are almost always private and require a password to join. There is probably a small percentage of people who use this method to get their warez regularly.

Bulletin Board Systems (BBS)

A bulletin board system (forum) is exactly what WarezNET.NET is, it is a forum. People sign up to a forum and post links to files which they want to share. In return for sharing their files, they get to see other peoples files. A major problem with this is that there are few ways to control the sharing to leeching ratio.
