Setting Up IRC
Downloading & Installing mIRC
The First thing to do is to download mIRC. Open up your favorite browser and enter this in the address field "http://www.mirc.com/" Without the qoutation marks. On the left hand side you should see different sections, click the one that says "Download mIRC". Select any mirror to begin the download of mIRC.After your download is finished, Run it. Select the directory you wish to install it to.
Setting up mIRC
You must first open up our newly installed mIRC. Go to the directory you installed it and double click the mIRC.exe. Now mIRC is opened. Click continue on pop-up. The Options menu should now have opened. First enter in "Full Name"(Dont put your real one) "Email-Address" "Nick Name"(This is the name you go by) and last "Alternative"(This name is used when your regular name is beind used). Next we must set up the right server to connect to. Click the Server Tab on the left side,it should be listed under "Connect" Now for "IRC Network" press the drop down box and point it to "Rizon". Now Press OK. After we have setup the server,we are ready to connect. Press the lightning button which is located on the top left side of the window, it is next to a folder/hamer icon. Once you connect a channel connect screen should appear. In it type
#wareznet.chat
then press "Join" Wow! we have now connected to the WarezNET channel!
Registering & Authing your Nickname
Registering your nickname has a lot of benefits. The best ones are that nobody will be able to use your nickname and you will be able to recieve auto-voicing(more on this later) on
#wareznet.chat.
Type in this in any chat box.
/msg nickserv Register "password here" "e-mail here"(Enter them without the qoutes!)
You should have received a message saying An AUTH code has been E-mailed to "Your e-mail here". Now go and check your mailbox. you should have received a message from "admins@lists.rizon.org". Open up that mail. About 7 lines down there should be a line that looks like /msg NickServ REGISTER AUTH "bunch of letters and numbers"". Copy that line. Now paste that line into any mIRC chat window. You should have received a message on mIRC saying "Nickname "your nickname here" registered under your account". Now to learn how to Auth! Go back to the mIRC options. You open them by clicking the folder/hammer icon next to the lightning. Once the options are opened, click "Options" under the Connect Category. Now click a button that says "Perform..." In there type "/msg nickserv identify "password here""(without qoutes). Also check the "Enable Perform on connect" box. Make sure the drop down tab is on "All Networks". Now press ok.Disconnect from mIRC by pressing the lightning button, which should be cut in half when your connected. Now press it again to reconnect. You should see a message that says ""your nick" sets mode: +r". If this message appears, you have done everything correctly! =).
Epilogue
You have just setup the basics of mIRC. You are now able to talk to other people and not have your nick stolen! You might be seeing some people do neat things that you have no idea how to. More on this in later chapters!
Commands, Voices, Ops, oh my!
Strange Things Explained
You may be seeing that you dont understand. This section will hopefully answer all those strange things. First of all, What are those strange icons next to peoples names? Well, those icons show the users status level in WarezNET. @ are called ops. Ops are the mods, supermods, and admins of wareznet. These people will enforce the rules and kick/ban abusers of the channel. + is called voiced. Having a voice means you are a member of WarezNET. Members gain no privelages by being +,its just a thing for mods. Strange Commands that might be shown. +v means that a member has gotten voiced. +o means someone has been opped. +b means a person has been banned +k means someone has been kicked +m means the channel is on moderated mode and only ops/voiced may talk.
Commands
These are commands that will make your life in irc easier and funner! The most used command is /me. The /me command is used as an emote. If someone types in "/me rolls 8ball" It will display to everyone ""Users name" rolls 8ball". The /hop command can be used if you want to quickly reconnect a channel. /nick "nick here" will change your nick to anything you specified /part command leaves a channel. /quit will close your mIRC /msg "nick here" "message here" will message the person you entered with a message you entered /query "members name" will open a private message with a member. (This can also be done by double clicking a users name) /whois "member here" command will display basic info about a person, like his ip.
Getting Auto-Voiced
Step 1: choose a nick to use in a channel ---nick = name you want other to see
Step 2: you need to register your nick

Step 3: check your e-mail and copy the code shown.
Setp 4: go back to the server window and type
/msg nickserv AUTH <the code you copied earlier>
your nick is now registered----------
Step 5: ask Aetos or NightHawk1956 very kindly to set up an autovoice for you
Step 6: go to the IRC "view" menu up top, and select "options". In the window that pops up, go to "Options" under the the "Connect" part of the tree on the right. Then click on "Perform".
Step 7: in the textbox that appears in the nwe window type
/nick <the nick you're going to use> /msg NickServ IDENTIFY <your password>
your nick will now identify itself when you connect-------
