Warez Network or WarezNET for short is a website dedicated in providing external links to warez content. Registered members may access user posted content in various forum sections ranging from applications, games, links, and resources, as well as discuss topics both casual and serious with other WarezNET users. Other features include a gaming community and a radio station where users can listen to music.

History
Created in 2001, WarezNET was initially a toplist that only linked other websites. The creator, DM, was quickly unsatisfied with this and changed the site to try and make WarezNET actually related to Warez. By 2002 WarezNET actually contained links to some downloads but it was the forum section of the website that began to take over. By 2003 a fully fledged download community was running. From then there were a number of stumbling blocks, particularly in the summer of 2003 when vBulletin decided WarezNET was not a satisfactory site to use their product (despite purchasing a license). Nevertheless WarezNET came back with a superior site based on phpBB which a beautiful design (which the Wired skin is still based on today). The year 2004 was an important year for WarezNET, seeing the introduction of the radio and the community boomed. From 2005 to 2007 WarezNET fluctuated in size and activity but there were no massive changes in the back end due to DM being busy. The year 2007 was the opening of WarezNET v.4.0.0 which had created the first major changes in a long time and the start of 2008 saw the opening of WNTorrents.

WarezNET Forum
The WarezNET Forum is the heart of the WarezNET community. In the forum, registered members have viewing and posting privileges in most parts of the site. A newly registered member (ranked as a Newbie) is encouraged to post topics, warez, free resources, site links, jokes, news, help queries, answers, and tutorials. The goal of the forum is to provide an organized database of warez links and quality content without the frustration of advertisement banners as seen in traditional Warez sites. This has been achieved by the collaboration efforts of the WarezNET Administrators and Moderators.

In order to gain access to anything on WarezNET, users are required to register for membership.

In addition to observing common netiquette, all WarezNET members (except Administrators) must strictly follow a set of rules provided by the staff. Violation of said rules will lead to bad karma and eventually a ban. The rules are constantly evolving to create a stable environment in the forum yet maintain quality and fair experience amongst all members of the board. In summary, members are strongly encouraged to contribute to the forum.
