General Rules
These rules apply for the whole forum/website. They are in a list format for easy reference.
Warez Network links and downloads: DO NOT EVER post links from the Warez Network Download Section anywhere on the internet or share with friends. If you want to give someone a link, direct them to Warez Network! BREAKING THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A BAN!
Subscription to the forum: Your subscription to WarezNET.NET is not WarezNET.NET's problem. You should be aware when your account expires, when/if PayPal takes money from your account and when/if your Sponsorship runs out. This is your problem. Check the User CP to see the dates, check with PayPal for details if you signed up this way. If your account gets deleted because it is unsubscribed and inactive it is your own fault.
Administration and moderation rights: Administrators/Moderators are allowed to edit/delete/move/close any posts they wish under reason. If you wish to question the decision you should PM the moderator in question and ask the reason. Any abuse to Administrators/Moderators can result in a warning card being given, or even an immediate ban from the board. Administrators can ban any member on the board without reason. Moderators can ban users on the board within reason. Administrators/Moderators are the only members who have the right of free speech on the board, but Moderators can be edited by Administrators. Administrators can do anything on this board they wish, they can change rules at their own discretion without warning. This does NOT apply to moderators. Moderators cannot make any rules. Don't question moderators or the forum rules. Any feedback about the rules or moderators should be sent to an admin or posted in the website feedback section.
Posting topics and replies: All topics should be in the correct section of the board. All topics and posts should be done within the forum's rules. The forum rules are all below and there are stickies in each forum. SPAM is not allowed on the board, except in the links zone and request section, within the specified rules. If spam is added on the board, then the post with either be deleted or moved to the Links Zone. Spam links can be added if they can fulfill someone's request, and in this case the spam link should be a PM to the requester, and add a message after the request saying 'Check PM' or similar. This board IS NOT FREE SPEECH, it is privately owned.
Post counts: Flooding the board (excessive posting in a short amount of time) will result in immediate ban from the board. If you want to add a comment and bump a post you can do this within 24 hours if you are the last poster and your posts will be merged. If you reply after 24 hours and you create two consecutive posts you will receive a warning. You can always edit your post to add comments. Replying with 'Thank You' posts in large amounts is considered flooding!
Full Member status: To obtain Full Member status you must have at least 30 posts and then you need to request membership in the Group CP area of the board. Once you have requested, we will review your account and only good members will be added to the Full Member group. If you get denied do not instantly reapply, think what you have done wrong and improve your membership, then and only then reapply. If you just keep reapplying you may get a warning.
More general rules: English is the ONLY language allowed on the board. If you post in a different language, the thread will be deleted. No member should flame another member (shouting, caps-lock, etc.). The ONLY members allowed are Administrators, Moderators are not allowed to! No pornography or unsuitable graphic imagery including links to such materials is allowed anywhere on the board except in the Adult section, anything illegal regarding this issue will receive an instant ban. No trading! This is not a trade warez site. Warez is free, and will remain free. Any ratio FTPs should go in the Private FTP section, and should clearly state they are private and ratio. You can only use the [HIDE] tags when you have a really good reason to know who reads the post (like your own personal FTP or similar).
Serials and keys: No serials/keys should be posted on the board! Links to other sites, files or webpages containing keys/serials are acceptable.
Avatars and sigs: No pornography can be in sigs or avatars. Avatars must be 100x70 or smaller in size. Signature images can be 500x60 or smaller in size. Signatures have a choice of using images or text, NOT BOTH! Text signatures can only be a maximum of 3 lines long. You should not advertise any sites in your sig images, and any URLs must be non profit making for you (no cash making links).
Rules regarding any links: If you ever post a download link to a copyrighted (not free) file you MUST use the [CODE] tags or you will recieve a warning. Any other links to websites or free downloads may use normal [URL] tags. With long/complex URLs you may wish to use the [CODE] tags anyway, this is fine.
Rules regarding hidden information: If you ever reply to a thread with [HIDE] tags or Thank You content that is hidden do not reply to the topic releasing any information. It is hidden for a reason and keep it that way, so everyone has to reply or say thanks just like you.
IRC Rules
These rules apply to IRC channel that WarezNET.NET use. Banning here will means you will be banned from the channels. Servere misuse may result in a ban/warnings on the forum too.
General rules: You should respect admins (@), no flaming admins at any time. Admins can flame members under fair circumstances, if you disagree with an incident take it up with a Super Moderator or Administrator from the forum. You are not allowed to spam the channels with messages, scripts or similar. You cannot use bots in channels without admins consent. You cannot open a #wareznet affiliated channel without consulting a forum administrator! No XDCC or fserve in non share channels.
Racism and conduct: The irc channel has pretty much constant chatting 24/7, as a result we cannot allow racism or ANY type of discrimination. It is too hard for moderators to be online 100% and things can get out of hand. Therefore NO racism or discrimination. Members will recieve warnings on the forum for breaking this rule.
#wareznet: This channel is designed for idling and viewing any announcements that may occur from bots or admins.
#wareznet.chat: No file sharing or requesting in this channel. Members may flame each other, but if an admin feels it is getting out of hand they can stop the conversation. Admins can ban any member if they please. Admins should not make solo decisions unless it is a last resort (no one is around) as fellow admin witnesses are needed for actions (except forum administrators).
#wareznet.crew: You must be a moderator or higher on the forum to join this channel. Super Moderators from the forum get admin access.
#wareznet.fullmembers: You need to be a Full Member, WN Sponsor or Staff to access this channel. A key is required (it is given in Full Members chat).
#wareznet.fxp: You must be either a WN-Pub or WN-FXP team member, super moderator or administrator to join this channel. This channel is designed from discussion about FXP related issues.
#wareznet.gaming: This channel is open for anyone, but is designed in conjunction with http://gaming.wareznet.net for clan matches, etc.
#wareznet.radio: This channel is only open during radio shows, for the radio shows.
#wareznet.xdcc: This channel is for any member to leech from, but ONLY members on WarezNET and no one else.
Download Forums
These rules apply to all the forums in the Download Category, no exceptions.
Download links Do not post stolen/scanned links. If you do, they are your responsibility! We are not a leech board, the responsibility is yours.
New downloads: Downloads in the Applications, Games, Movies, Music / MP3, Consoles, and Peer-to-Peer Links forums should use the 'New Download' link when posting any download links (Use the 'New Download posting' rules below to help)! DO NOT REPLY TO A DOWNLOAD WITH MORE LINKS! If you have more links for an existing post by someone else, you need to click on the 'New Download' link (do not reply with them). Basically each user can make their own post for the same download (if you have links). Make sure each post is for ONE version (release group), also make sure you search for the SAME link before posting, to check your link is not a duplicate. Serials/keys should NEVER be posted with downloads (see rule above).
New Download posting: For help use the (?) images, and they also show some of the rules below:
Download Name: Enter the download name here. For example: 'Sim City 4'. Do NOT include any periods (.) or underscores (_) instead
of spaces! Do NOT make all CAPs, and try to make it neat!
Release Group: This is particularly aimed at Games and Movies, but some apps also have a release/crack group. Enter it here. For example: 'Deviance' or 'IND'. Please enter is as you see it in the NFOs. Otherwise leave it blank. If you work it out later please add it by editing your post.
Download Type: Select the type of release. If you are unsure ask in 'Issues Forum' or check the NFO, or an NFO site.
Download Method: Select the download method, either an FTP link or HTTP link.
Description: Enter a description of the download, and/or an installation guide. Do NOT copy an NFO and do NOT include any non-alphabetical characters! NO IMAGES hotlinked from any site unless it's your own hosting!
Download Links: Enter your download link(s). If you have more than one link, separate them by a line (like the example). Do NOT use any BBCode tags, and make sure they are the full URL (http:// or ftp://). Do NOT post any anti-leeched links unless you uploaded them!
Download Size: Enter the download size in the form 'x MB' (example: 433 MB) or in the form 49x15 MB, similar to an NFO file format.
NFO Link: Post a link to an NFO file. Good links can be obtained from NFOrce (all), VCDquality (movies), ISOnews (all). Make sure you give the full URL.
Require Thanks: You should only use this with good reason. If you uploaded the files, or it is your own FTP then it is
understandable. This basically records everyone who gains access to the link.
Auto Link Checker: This checks the status of an FTP and determines if it is alive or not. ONLY USE THIS IF IT IS YOUR OWN FTP, if you use it for random ftps you will recieve a warning. Also you can only use it for ONE ftp.
Problems: If there is a problem with the download link then reply saying 'link does not work' or similar. If you have any problems with installing, or running the download the post should not be in this section but in the Help/Issues section. All posts relating problems to this nature will be simply deleted.
Download types: Make sure you post downloads in the correct section. If you have an application that has a trial, but you have a crack then it should be posted in the Applications forum; if you do not have the crack it should go in freeware. Ensure console games go in the Consoles forum, not games.
Freeware, E-books and Other: All rules regard the general rules. Please post descriptions with your downloads or recieve a warning.
Public FTPs: If you are unsure whether to post a link in Public FTPs or a different download section, think of this: if you have a direct link within an FTP to a specific download then it should NOT go in Public FTPs. If it is a general FTP with lots of contents then it should go in Public FTPs. FTPs should be posted in [code][/code] format.
Private FTPs: DO NOT post yours (or someone else's) private ftps OUTSIDE the private ftps section (for example do not post links to your ftp in the games forum). FTPs should be posted in [code][/code] format. You should give the max users, and connection speed (approx). Do not hammer their servers or try to make more than one connection if so instructed. Your ftp client or download manager isyour responsibility so learn how to use it. If it creates a problem through hammering or multi-connecting it is your fault. You are likely to be banned if you hammer an FTP anyway. Respect the efforts of the hosts. Do not complain or harass them including pestering them via PMs or spamming their threads. Members who run Private FTPs are allowed to decide who gets an account, it's up to them. They are also allowed to BAN anyone they want from their server. Don't question or flame them in PMs or in the threads! DO NOT post their server anywhere outside Warez Network or GET BANNED!
Download Titles: All topic titles should be in the given format from the New Download/FTP template and NOT changed. If you have made a mistake, by all means change your title, but do not remove SVCD because you don't want it in the title or anything like that. With the download sections that do not use the New Download or New FTP template, then please give a short concise description as the title. Do NOT include any periods (.) or underscores (_) instead of spaces! Do NOT make all CAPs, and try to make it neat!
Section specific rules
These rules apply to all the relevant forum.
Newbie / New to Site / First Poster Chat: Post anything here within the general rules.
General Chat: Any general chat here within the general rules. Political discussions are allowed, but no spamming, flaming or racism.
Scene Discussion: Posting must be about scene direction, problems, thoughts, etc. No off-topic chat. Questions about the scene are allowed, but no off-topic questions.
Release Discussion: ALL new posts here must be related to a specific WAREZ release. Not general releases, but releases by warez groups (for example a game release by Deviance).
Jokes and Funny Stuff: A maximum of 5 jokes per day for each member. All jokes must be funny! Non-funny jokes or posts will be deleted. Note that jokes should not break other rules (this includes flaming members, racism, etc).
Tutorials Section: Any useful, non-illegal (remember freedom of speech) tutorials are allowed here. Good tutorials can be posted in the Warez FAQ.
Issues: Use the search on the board to find out if your problem or query has been previously discussed elsewhere or whether there may be a tutorial which will help you. Make sure you post the exact problem in your issue, otherwise it will be ignored. The title of the issue must NOT be 'Please Help' or similar, but should be the title of the software, hardware, or a brief description of the problem.
Links Zone: Post within the general rules. Make sure any links that are posted are not profit making for you, also any illegal links (warez ok) are not allowed.
Graphics, Programming and Web Design: Questions and issues relating graphics, programming or web design ARE allowed. All posts here must be to do with those 3 categories. Downloads should go in the Webmaster's Resource section. If you request a signature to be made read this. If you post a link on your own webhost it does not need to use [CODE] tags. As always any other requests are not allowed.
Full Members Sections: All rules for these sections have the same rules as their equivalent section. There for downloads have to follow the download rules, and the chat has to follow the chat rules. No exceptions.
